Interlibrary loans that have arrived from a library outside of Vanderbilt are shelved on the ILL hold shelf by the borrowers last name and have a yellow band around them. These are different than items on the regular hold shelf and have different procedures. When users come to pick up an ILL:
A due date is on the front; no checkout in Alma is necessary!
When users return an ILL, give it to Robert or place the item on his desk.
An item on hold will have a slip inside that says HOLD. When a user comes to pick up an item on hold, leave the slip in and check it out in Alma as normal. Desensitize the item and let them know the due date. When a user returns an item that was on hold, return it in Alma as normal. Alma will tell you the next steps for the item. If it needs to be returned to another library, put a white slip of paper inside the item and write the following:
To: (whichever library it goes to)
From: Music
Date returned
Put item in mail bucket behind the service desk!
