Getting to the Catalogs
To begin searching the Library Catalog, go to the main library webpage. The search box is located at the top of the page. Enter terms in the search box to perform a general search in the Library Catalog. To perform a Advanced Search, simply click the Advanced Search option under the Library Catalog search box, on the right. There are also links that take you directly to the interface for databases and journals at the bottom of the search box, on the left. The Library Catalog is the catalog for ALL of the nine Vanderbilt Libraries.
An online database of library materials is sometimes referred to as an "Online public access catalog" ("OPAC"), or simply the library catalog. The Heard Library's online catalog is referred to as the library catalog or simply the catalog. It searches print, media, electronic materials, databases, and the television news archive.
