Checking Out, also known as Charging, an item is when you create a record of an item's loan to a user.
**Note: Once again, when checking out items, always make sure you are logged in at the correct desk to avoid creating errors, especially if you are working at multiple libraries.
Most library items, with some exceptions can be renewed online via My Account up to four times. Materials may also be renewed at the service desk, which may be the only option once users have reached the renewal limit.
To renew items that haven't reached the renewal limit:
1. Go to Manage Patron Services.
2. Swipe the user's ID or search by name.
3. Under loans, display "All Loans" rather than "Loans of this Session."
4. Check the box beside each item you'd like to renew, or click "Renew All."
5. Click the "Renew Selected" in the top right, just above the loan display options.
If the items have reached the renewal limit, you will need to return the book under "Return Items" and then check out the item again under "Manage Patron Services." This resets the renewal count to 0, and the item can be renewed four more times.
