Resource Sharing (or ILL) is a network of libraries all over the world that allows patrons from other libraries to borrow books or articles.
ILL items all have yellow wrappings with patron information as well as a paper slip with borrowing information. These materials are organized by the requesting patron's last name.
When you remove an item from the Hold Shelf, you should always remove the white paper slip with the patron's name on it and put it in the ILL Slip tray. If there is both a white slip and a blue slip, then the item is for library-use only! The white slip should be removed and placed in the ILL slip tray. The blue slip should be removed with some form of photo ID paper clipped to the slip and put in the designated holder for restricted items.
When the patron comes back with their Interlibrary loan items, find out if they are finished and if the item(s) is ready to be returned. If they still wish to use the item, be sure you replace the blue slip and place it back on the shelf. If they are finished with the item, be sure to check the box on the blue slip indicating the item is ready to return in the ILL return bin in the sorting area. Please stack the books in neatly and do not toss into bin.
Microfilm is shelved next to all the books on hold. ALL Microfilm is for library use only.
