Processing items on loan from another library

Once the item is received, discharge it. To process for reserves use instructions in the “Creating Reserve Records” tab. When finished, discharge the item to make sure it routes to the proper reserve desk.

Items requested by another library

If an item at your library is requested by another campus library for reserves, charge the item(s) to the reserve desk of the appropriate library.  Once charged, a pop-up will appear stating that it is in transit to that library.

If a title or item needed for reserves is currently charged (checked-out), the item can be recalled.

To recall an item:

  1. Click on the Circulation tab.
  2. Click on the Place Hold Wizard in the Holds box.
  3. In the Place Hold Wizard enter your library’s reserve account ID in the user ID field. (See Reserve Desk names table)
  4. Enter the item ID or if the item has just been searched click on the “Current” box. If the Item ID is unknown use the Item Search Gadget at the top of the wizard.
  5. Select your library from the “Pickup at” dropdown menu.
  6. Enter the course ID and instructor’s last name in the Comment field.
  7. Under Level/Range select “copy” and “group”.
  8. Under the recall status select “Recall now (RUSH)”.
  9. Click “Place Hold”.
