Statalist began as a discussion list in 1994. After twenty years, in March 2014, it relaunched as a web forum. It currently is hosted at the Harvard School of Public Health. According to site literature, "Statalist is a forum where Stata users from experts to neophytes maintain a lively dialogue about all things statistical and Stata."
