Cultivating the next generation of scientists, statisticians, policy makers, and data viz specialists, many institutions of higher education provide their students with instruction and hands-on experience in Stata. UCLA

UCLA's Statistical Consulting Group maintains this exhaustive Stata resource. Pay close attention to the first three sections: Classes and Seminars; Learning Modules; and Frequently Asked Questions.
The Classes and Seminars section provides many of the lectures, notes, slideshows, sample code, practice datasets, and other materials used in (you guessed it) past classes and seminars to which UCLA's Statistical Consulting Group contributed. The resources included with Introduction to Stata 16, Stata Data Management, and Regression with Stata are all excellent for the beginning Stata user.
The Learning Modules section breaks down in Stata syntax common operations (e.g., "Using 'if' for subsetting with Stata Commands," "Combining Twoway Scatterplots," etc.). The breadth of Stata operations covered here should benefit all users--from novice to expert.
UCLA's FAQ page is even more comprehensive. By navigating within it using Ctrl+F (or Command+F on a Mac), users gain a flexible and intuitive companion reference to StataCorp's official help guides.
University of Michigan
- University of Michigan Stata Workshop
The University of Michigan's Stata Workshop is another excellent resource for beginning and intermediate Stata users. Maintained by the Consulting for Statistics, Computing & Analytics Research (CSCAR) team at the University of Michigan, the workshop follows Princeton University's tutorial in progressing from an introduction through data management and manipulation and ending with lessons on programming and more advanced Stata features like macros and loops.
Because the material is drawn directly from University of Michigan workshops and Stata courses, each unit (e.g., Working with Data Sets, Data Management, etc.) concludes with a number of self-guided exercises. Answers to these exercises are provided after the appendix. This should benefit users who thrive on active learning and hands-on practice.
