Subject Librarian Toolkit

Initiate efforts to seek out and contact discipline constituents within and outside the university; promote the services and resources of the library while cultivating relationships with stakeholders and library partners. Example outreach activities include: 

• Develop relationships with university departments, institutes, or sponsored programs; whenever possible partner and work collaboratively on projects
• Serve on university, college, or school-level committees 
• Attend departmental and college/school meetings, town halls, research presentations, student information fairs, etc.
• Utilize existing communication, e.g., department newsletters and emails, develop target communication, e.g., semester email to department faculty  
• Work with ACE Department to communicate and assess outreach activities
