Welcome to Vanderbilt University Libraries' GIS Lab LibGuide. This LibGuide provides resources for discovering and learning Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, methods, and more. The GIS Lab supports the access to GIS software and geospatial data services across the Vanderbilt campus to students, faculty, and staff.
We have 13 Dell Optiplex SFF 7010 PCs available for use within the lab. Computers are available on a first come, first serve basis. Except in the instance where GIS processing using more than 1 computer or overnight geoprocessing is needed, please email the GIS Lab to let us know how we can best support your request.
Software
The GIS Lab is the only location on campus with public access to GIS software and tools.
Our Geospatial Librarians are available upon request to aid in research projects, geospatial data access and management, embedded GIS support in courses, and more. To learn more about the Lab's mission and services we offer, please visit our website or submit a service request form.
During the Fall 2024 semester, Alyssa Sklar will hold office hours in the GIS Lab on Mondays 1-2pm for general GIS support, technology access, trouble-shooting, etc.
