Conferences & Professional Organizations
- Jazz Education NetworkThe Jazz Education Network's mission is to celebrate music, community, and endless learning through advancing education, promoting performance, and developing audiences. Each year the Jazz Education Network hosts a conference bringing jazz beginners to experts together. Check the website for more conference details and how to perform or present (applications open April 1-April 30 each year). Individual memberships to this organization can be found on the website. eJEN membership of $65/year is recommended for college students.
- International Society of Jazz Arrangers & ComposersISJAC supports jazz arrangers and composers and provides professional opportunities for members and supports jazz composers through various awards. The organization hosts a bi-annual conference. Membership dues are $45/year ($25 for students).
- Jazz CongressJazz Congress is hosted by Jazz at Lincoln Center and includes a conference featuring workshops, panels, and networking opportunities. Students attend Jazz Congress for $50.00.
Competitions
- Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal CompetitionOpen to solo vocalists that are not signed to a major record label. Deadline to apply is September 3, 2024 5:00PM Eastern Time.
- Ella Fitzgerald Vocal Jazz CompetitionRegistration for the 2025 competition will begin on November 1, 2024.
