The New York Times
The New York Times website is available as a free resource (without paywalls, restrictions on numbers of articles viewed, or limits on using the news article archive) through the Vanderbilt Libraries. To create an account, go to the library homepage and scroll until you see "News Desk."
Click on the NYT button. This will generate a pop-up that will ask you to navigate to accessnyt.com. Go to that link and you will be prompted to enter the name of the institution through which you have access (Vanderbilt). You will then get a message asking you to create a free NYT account to gain access. Note that you cannot use an existing NYT account to do this -- you will have to create a new separate account if you already have another account. The form for creating the account will ask for your VU affiliation (student, faculty, or staff). Once you create the account, you will get an email with a link to click to confirm the account.

The Atlantic
The Atlantic website is available as a free resource (without paywalls, restrictions on numbers of articles viewed, or limits on using the news article archive) through the Vanderbilt Libraries. Our subscription includes unlimited reading online and in the Atlantic app including the archives back to 1857, narrated articles and podcasts, and email newsletters.

Click on the link titled "Single Journals" to access the Atlantic website. You will then be prompted to use your VUnetID single sign on. After signing in, you will be transferred to the Atlantic website.
The Wall Street Journal
The Wall Street Journal website is available as a free resource (without paywalls, restrictions on numbers of articles viewed, or limits on using the news article archive) through the Vanderbilt Libraries. To create an account, go to the library homepage and scroll until you see "News Desk."
Click on the WSJ button. This will generate a page that will prompt you to enter your VUNet ID and login information. You will then get a message asking you to create a free WSJ account to gain access. Note that you cannot use an existing account to do this -- you will have to create a new separate account if you already have another account. Once you create the account, you will get an email with a link to click to confirm the account.
The Financial Times
The Financial Times website is available as a free resource (without paywalls, restrictions on numbers of articles viewed, or limits on using the news article archive) through the Vanderbilt Libraries. To create an account, go to the library homepage and scroll until you see "News Desk." Click on the button labeled "The Financial Times" to create an account. Your account must be created with your VU email address.
