Visual Resources Center: Home

The Vanderbilt University Visual Resources Center is located in Cohen Hall 134 and is your source for finding and properly using high-quality images resources for your papers, presentations, and projects.

Welcome to the Visual Resources Center! This guide is designed to make your life easier by compiling image resources for your papers, presentations, and projects. Not only can you find images here, but you can also learn how to use them appropriately. Learn how to format images for presentations, properly cite information, determine if that image you just downloaded from Google is accurate, and protect yourself from copyright infringement.

Image Requests

The Visual Resources Center welcomes image requests from faculty members to aid with research and teaching. If you need copywork, please fill out the form below. We will scan the materials and provide digital images in two weeks.

Here are the steps for making a request.

1. Please email a digital copy of the work form to Fay Renardson and also attach a printed copy to the source material.

2. Please leave the source material with the attached form at the designated drop-off point in the Visual Resources Center in Cohen Hall. The designated drop-off point is located on the center table in the VRC and marked with a sign that reads "Drop-Off Point."

3. After Phil Nagy has completed the digital imaging, Fay Renardson will deliver images to the requester via JSTOR Forum and/or Box. She will also alert the requester that source items have been returned to the designated pick-up point at VRC.

If you have any questions about these procedures, please do not hesitate to contact us.
