The information literacy component of this course will help you prepare for your final research paper. The assignment is constructed in four parts with instructions for each part included in this LibGuide. A template has been provided for you below. The template separates the assignment into four parts, but does not include the instruction details. You must follow the instructions in the LibGuide and download the template to complete the library assignment.
Submission Details:
Upon completion, you will be able to:
1. Develop an action plan for completing a research paper.
2. Use the library catalog to locate scores, books, and at least one scholarly article about your chosen piece.
3. Use the Music Periodicals database (MPD) or other journal databases to locate and access at least two relevant articles about your research topic.
4. When necessary, select and use relevant information sources from the open web to research your piece.
5. Format footnotes and bibliographic citations according to the conventions of the Chicago Manual of Style.
6. Reflect on the research processes both searching and discovery and identify areas for improvement for research projects.
