Finance Databases: Capital IQ

Capital IQ is a powerful research tool for financial information. Capital IQ provides a powerful screening tool to find detailed information on companies (public and private), markets, transactions, and people. It is an excellent resource for mergers and acquisitions research.

Current Owen and Vanderbilt Law students, faculty, and staff can create their own personal capital IQ accounts by registering here.

It is important to recognize that our license for Capital IQ is intended for academic use only; it is not to be used in conjunction with any outside company for internships, independent studies, or other non-academic purposes. 

To get started, try searching for a company of interest in the search box, or select the screening tab to create custom lists of companies, transactions, or people.

For those doing historical research, you may want to use Capital IQ's Excel plugin. This plugin in located on each of the library terminals.
