The New York Times website is available as a free resource (without paywalls, restrictions on numbers of articles viewed, or limits on using the news article archive) through the Vanderbilt Libraries. To create an account, simply go to the News Desk bar on the library homepage:
Click on the NYT button. This will generate a pop-up that will ask you to navigate to accessnyt.com. Go to that link and you will be prompted to enter the name of the institution through which you have access (Vanderbilt). You will then get a message asking you to create a free NYT account to gain access. Note that you cannot use an existing NYT account to do this — you will have to create a new separate account if you already have another account. The form for creating the account will ask for your VU affiliation (student, faculty, or staff). Once you create the account, you will get an email with a link to click to confirm the account.
