Generative AI Tools at VU

Current members of the Vanderbilt University community (students, faculty & staff) have access to select generative AI tools and products including:

Once in the Vanderbilt.AI (Amplify) platform, you can adjust the model you would like to use by choosing from the drop down menu, as seen below. Options shown may change over time.  

Microsoft Copilot is a generative AI chatbot developed by Microsoft. Currently, it is accessible to the Vanderbilt University community in the following ways: 

  • Users utilizing Windows 10 version 19041.0 or higher can navigate to the Microsoft Copilot app within the Microsoft store and download (free.) 
    • To upgrade to Windows 11, please contact VUIT to request that software update to your machine's Software Center. 
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot is available by logging in with your VU credentials at https://copilot.microsoft.com/ 

Coursera at Vanderbilt

To enroll and earn Coursera credentials for free (for select courses) Vanderbilt faculty, staff and students should create an account and log in using their Vanderbilt email address:

You will be directed to the Vanderbilt SSO login page.

  • If you have logged in and used Coursera with your Vanderbilt email before, select "I'm an existing Coursera user".
  • If you have not logged in and used Coursera with your Vanderbilt email before, click "Join Program" if you see the modal.
  • If you are a new user, select "I'm a new Coursera user" and create an account using your Vanderbilt email address.

Once logged in as a Vanderbilt user, Coursera courses with the designation "Included in your organization's learning program" next to the ENROLL button are eligible for the certificate fee to be waived upon course completion.
