Company Information and Analysis
- Hoovers This link opens in a new windowSearch for company, then from the company landing page look at the following in the left hand column: News; SWOT; Signals; Triggers; CRUSH report (for top 1000 companies-deep dive into operations); analyst reports.
For public companies, look at their latest annual report, as well as quarterly filings and earnings call transcripts. They can usually be found by searching for the company name and "investor relations" on your favorite search engine.
Industry Analysis

Search for the industry for your chosen firm and look at the following areas in the left hand column: Quarterly Industry Update; Industry Forecast; Challenges; Trends; Opportunities; Call Prep Questions (gives an insight in to operations in many functional areas.) The Industry Prospector (located at the top of the page) may be of use in screening potential industries to focus on.

IBISWorld Industry reports include a section on key external drivers in the industry performance chapter. In addition, you can access U.S. Business Environment Profiles by clicking on Industry Risk Ratings in the upper right.
