Assessment Overview

There is no right or wrong way to assess student learning and what works for one class, may not work for another. This section of the guide includes a variety of assessment methods that you can customize and use for your library instruction sessions.   
Many assessment activities can be accomplished in class and evaluated using a rubric or checklist of criteria. Each activity listed includes suggested ways for gathering assessment data. Click on the links below for more information.

Why Assess?

Purpose of Assessment - assessing your instruction should be purposeful and well thought out. Here are some potential reasons you may need/want to participate in assessment:
