Collection Development and Status Statement: Government Documents and Information

This statement was prepared by Frank Lester, Government Information Librarian, on 13 February 2018, and revised on 20 August 2023. This is a substantial update and revision of the original April 1994 collection policy document prepared by Larry Romans, government information librarian and head of the former Government Information Unit (1988-2014). Portions of this document were also prepared in consultation with and in reliance on notes from Will Stringfellow, former depository coordinator (2017-2023).

Sections of the 1994 collection policy were adapted from policies originally authored by: Araby Greene, University of North Carolina, Asheville; Bryan Stack, University of Nebraska at Omaha; Eulalie Brown, University of New Mexico; Mary Webb Prophet, Denison University; and Peggy Walker, Florida Atlantic University.
