Academic book reviews
Book reviews are usually published in peer reviewed journals such as the American Journal of Philology or the American Journal of Archaeology in Classical Studies. There are also academic journals that solely publish reviews such as:
Bryn Mawr Classical Review (BMCR)
Search individual academic journals would be an inefficient method for locating academic book reviews. The Library Search and L'Année Philologique can be used to search across multiple journals to identify available book reviews.
When searching for academic book reviews, the title of the book is always the title or a component of the title of the book review article.
In the Library Search, used the Advanced Search feature. Using Advanced Search will allow you to limit your search using the Title field. Also make sure that the Everything search scope is selected.
Book reviews will be tagged with the label Article or Review.
In L'Année Philologique, book reviews do not have individual records. Instead, book records (L'Annee usually uses the term monograph) have a section where book reviews are listed. Simply search for the title of your book.
