Students will have 4 Immersion Vanderbilt Milestones they must complete. These forms can be found on the Immersion Portal, which can be accessed through the Office of Experiential Learning & Immersion Vanderbilt website and in students YES portal.
Part One: Immersive Experience includes Milestones 1 & 2
Milestone 1 – The Immersive Experience Declaration Form
Before you start your immersive experience, submit the Immersive Experience Declaration Form. Students may submit multiple immersive experience forms throughout their time at Vanderbilt University. You may submit unlimited numbers of immersive experiences. After the first experience is finished, use the additional experience form to log as many experiences as you do.
Milestone 2 – Experience Self-Reflection
As you finish your immersive experience, you will complete an Experience Self-Reflection. Reflection may be integrated into your coursework or you may be asked to complete the Milestone 2 form. Additional self-reflection forms should be completed for each additional experience.
Part Two: Culminating Project includes Milestones 3 & 4
Milestone 3 – Culminating Project Completion Plan
On this form, you will formalize your concept, goals, and the completion plan for your culminating project and list your Immersion Vanderbilt faculty adviser. No matter how many immersive experiences you logged, you will only complete one Immersion Vanderbilt culminating project. Select from among your immersive experiences to decide what will be the basis of your project. You will decide with your Immersion Vanderbilt faculty adviser how you will create the project.
Milestone 4 – Immersion Vanderbilt: Culminating Project Submission
Complete this step before or during your last semester at Vanderbilt through the Immersion Portal. Your Immersion Vanderbilt adviser will review your culminating project and mark the requirement as complete. Once this is done, the title you have given your culminating project will be added to your transcript. You can only complete one culminating project; once complete, your Immersion Vanderbilt requirement will be satisfied. You may still participate, and claim additional immersive experiences but you may only complete one culminating project.
