Hours & Building Access

You are welcome to use any of the Vanderbilt Libraries, though Peabody Library has the books and other resources specificially available for Peabody students. Current hours are located on the library website.

The Peabody Library building has multiple entrances which are unlocked during regular business hours. To find the best one for you to use, visit the library or check out the accessibility guide on the library website.

Peabody Library Collections

You can enter the Peabody Library main stacks through doors on several floors of the library building. The main door is located to the left of the library front service desk. Books are shelved by their LC Call Numbers. If you need assistance locating a book, feel free to ask at the front service desk.

The Peabody Library also has juvenile fiction, nonfiction, picture books, graphic novels, and more available for check out from the Youth Collection. The Youth Collection is located on the 3rd Floor.

The Peabody Library is home to the Curriculum Materials Center, an amazing resource for teachers and future teachers! With puppets, classroom games, leveled readers, curriculum kits, and more, you will find great tools for your classrooms here. For more information, check out the CMC Guide.

Peabody Library has an entire room devoted to creativity and collaboration! Visit the Design Studio on the 3rd Floor to use the large collection of die-cuts, the chalk board wall, and other materials for your creative projects! For more information, visit the CMC Design Studio guide.

Peabody Library Resources & Services

The Vanderbilt University Libraries are committed to providing equal access to library services and collections for all patrons. If you need special assistance, ask for help at any library service desk. For more information, visit the Accessibility Services webpage.

Peabody Library has computers on the main floor as well as a computer lab (The Learning Commons) that you can use when there is not a class using it. Laptops are also available for check out. Visit the Library Technology webpage for more information.

Food and beverages are welcome in the building. Snack and beverage vending machines are also available.

Peabody Library has 25 lockers available for graduate and professional students. Locker assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be shared by up to 3 students. For more information, visit the Library Lockers webpage.

Peabody Library has printers located on the 3rd floor and main floor. Visit the VUprint webpage to learn more about printing on campus.

Single use, All Gender restrooms are located on the 3rd floor and by the side entrance door of the library. Men's and Women's restroom facilities are located in the basement.

Peabody Library has several study rooms available that you can reserve for individual or group use. Visit the online reservation system to place a reservation.
