Classes - Avant-Garde

All class sessions will by held in the Special Collections classroom at the 1101 building, 1101 19th Avenue South.  It is located next to the Wesley Parking Garage at the corner of Scarritt Place and 19th Avenue South. 

Please note: on November 7th, class will be held in the small event space on the second floor of the 1101 building.  Take the stairs to second floor; the room will be on the right at the top of the stairs.  Or take the gold elevator to floor 2R; the room will be on the right after exiting the elevator.

  • August 22: Realism and Naturalism
  • August 27: Symbolism
  • August 29: NO CLASS
  • September 3-5:  Cubism
  • September 10 and 12: Nowism/Presentism/Sumultaneism
  • September 17 and 19: Futurisms 
  • September 24 and 26: Expressionism and Fauvism
  • October 1, 3 and 8: Dada
  • October 10: Fall Break
  • October 22 and 24: YOUR MANIFESTOS (oral presentations)
  • October 29 
  • October 31: Orphism
  • November 5: Imagism
  • November 7: Imagism - Location change: 1101 Room 200, 2nd floor
  • November 12 and 14
  • November 21 and December 3: Presentation of your final works
