Bloomberg

Bloomberg

The Bloomberg terminal is a powerful financial tool that provides 15-minute delayed securities pricing and a wide range of financial and economic data for over 250 exchanges and 125 countries. Bloomberg has data on over 5 million bonds, equities, commodities, currencies, and funds.

Navigation in Bloomberg is via a decentralized, command driven system. Securities are organized by market silos and can be access via drilling down a series of menus or by entering a command. Commands to retrieve information are represented by codes

With more than 25,000 codes, the key to becoming an expert Bloomberg user is to:

  • Memorize the codes you use most often and
  • Know how to get help in Bloomberg to find new codes.

There is a Bloomberg terminal in the Central Library for current Vanderbilt students, faculty, and staff. Bloomberg is not available for remote use. Bloomberg is only available when the library is open. Please check the hours for availability.

Owen students, visit the Walker Management Library in Management Hall for Bloomberg access.
