If you need journal articles, book chapters, or any other part of printed materials from the university libraries, and you prefer not to visit the libraries in person, simply request that the item be scanned and delivered to you.
To request a book chapter via the library catalog, navigate to the record for the book in the library catalog, sign in, then click the Request chapter/article scan link. (Example here)
When searching for articles, use the button that appears in article citations in most library resources to request a copy.
Alternatively, you can place requests using the InterLibrary Loan Form. (One request per article or book chapter, please) Your scan request will be posted to your ILL account.
Pick-up service for physical circulating items is available from all Vanderbilt libraries and offsite storage locations.
Online requests are fulfilled with electronic versions of resources whenever possible. Please allow 3-5 business days for delivery of physical item requests. This timeframe allows us to follow international standards for safety in handling library materials. The libraries have only limited staff working inside each day. Pick up is by appointment outside the 21st Avenue entrance to the Divinity Library
To initiate a pickup request, navigate to the catalog record of the material you wish to receive, sign in, then click on the book pick up link. (Example here)
