The Journal of Media Arts and Cultural Criticism is a publication of the Visual Studies Workshop, a non-profit media arts center located in Rochester, New York. For over 30 years, Afterimage has been an important voice in the photography, film, video and visual book community. Along with feature articles, books and exhibition reviews, essays and news, every issue of Afterimage also includes over 300 free notices for jobs, call-for-work, exhibitions and screenings.

Aperture—a nonprofit foundation dedicated to promoting photography—was founded in 1952 by photographers Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Barbara Morgan, and Minor White; historian Beaumont Newhall; and writer/curator Nancy Newhall; as well as Melton Ferris, Ernest Louie, and Dody Warren. With scant resources, these visionary artists created a new quarterly periodical, Aperture, to serve photographers and photography enthusiasts worldwide.

Blind Spot is a semi-annual art journal that publishes unseen work by living photographers. In Blind Spot, images are given primacy and published collaboratively rather than curatorially, unaccompanied by introductory, biographical or explanatory text.

A non-profit, artist-run organization. We provide direct support to artists working in the media of photography and digital imaging through residencies, publications, exhibitions, a community-access digital lab facility, and other related projects.

Photoworks promotes engagement with photography and new thinking on its place within contemporary culture. We do this by commissioning and publishing new work and writing on photography and by producing exhibitions, books, participation and learning projects and events including the Brighton Photo Biennial.
