Citing Images

In ASA (American Sociological Association) style, citing an image requires specific details about the image, such as the creator, date of creation, title, format, and where you accessed it from (if applicable). Here's the general format for citing an image:  If the information is not easily available, include as much as you can, especially where someone else can find it.

Should I Use Citation Generator Tools?

Many databases and other resources now have tools that will create the citation for you.  If you choose to use these tools, make sure you double check against the appropriate style/citation manual.  Sometimes, these tools will have little mistakes, which are easy to fix, but you need to know the mistake exists in the first place.
