WSJ.com FAQ

WSJ.com subscriptions are being made available to Owen students, faculty and staff in a library partnership with Dean Johnson.

Why are you providing this?
The library vets and provides relevant and credible content for coursework, careers, and decision making. WSJ is a credible source for business news and information. The WSJ.com subscription will allow faculty and students to read, share and stay up-to-date with the business news, companies, industries and markets.

How do I sign up?
Use this URL and enter your VUNet ID
https://partner.wsj.com/partner/vanderbiltuniversity

The link you gave isn’t working for me, I get an error message.
If you are taking Owen classes, IT may need to check that your VUNet ID is enabled.

The link you gave isn’t working for me, I am using Microsoft Edge.
The link will work on Chrome, Firefox, Safari and IE, but not Edge.

Can I get a print copy with this subscription?
No. You may read the copy we receive in the library.

How long will I have the subscription?
While you are a member of the current Owen community – alumni will not be able to retain access.

I had an account, but now I can’t get in!
You need re-activate every 120 days, via this link: https://partner.wsj.com/partner/vanderbiltuniversity.
Otherwise you will be blocked and will need to re-activate your account. You will receive a warning email 7 days before you become blocked. This is to authenticate that you are still a member of the Owen community.

Can I use the App version?
Yes. Once you sign up through the special link, you can download the app and sign in with your new credentials.

I’m faculty, can I post an article in Brightspace?
Yes, you just put a link in your course. All Owen students can have an account and therefore full access to WSJ.com articles.

I have a subscription already, what should I do?
You can cancel and start using this shared license instead! If you cancel your personal subscription, please remember: you will need to authenticate (with the activate link) every 120 days and you will not be able to receive a print copy.

Is there any access to WSJ.com archives?
Yes. Some articles used to be published in print only, those are available in the databases Factiva and ProQuest

Can I link to a specific article?
Yes. Each article has a unique URL

Can I keep my subscription after I graduate?
Sorry, no.

When will I be cut off?
Upon graduation or when your 120 days expires after graduation.

I’m not a member of the Owen community, may I have access too?
Sorry, no. Our license only covers current members of the Owen community.

I have another question, who do I ask?
Please contact libraryservices@owen.vanderbilt.edu
