Resources for Ministry

Revised Common Lectionary

This online tool is a project of the Vanderbilt Divinity Library, a division of the Jean and Alexander Heard Library. The purpose of this project is twofold; to provide reference and resource access over the internet, and to provide an opportunity for spiritual reflection. In addition to the full text, images of religious art are provided for each lectionary week. Unique backgrounds have been created for each lectionary reading.

Art in the Christian Tradition

A database of visual images designed for scholars, students, pastors, and religious educators. All of the images may be used for educational and/or religious non-profit purposes. Images are added regularly. There are currently 2983 images in the collection. The ACT is linked to Vanderbilt’s Revised Common Lectionary. This linking allows leaders of worship and teachers to easily find visual art resources related to the scripture readings for each Sunday in the Church Calendar.

The Text This Week

This site features a wide variety of resources for study and liturgy based on the 3-year Revised Common Lectionary cycle. The purpose of this website is to provide links to resources for study, reflection and liturgy which correspond to the RCL readings you may be using for study, teaching & preaching. Among the resources, are direct links to articles in ATLA Serials selected by the website owner to aid in the study and sermon preparation for each pericope.
