Created by the North Carolina State University Libaries, Citation Builder, allows you to enter relevant source information and Citation Builder will create the citation for you.

Citation Builder uses the the Sixth Edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, although it only cites basic resources such as a book, jounral article, or Web site.

Creating Citations using Microsoft Word

Both Microsoft Word 2007 & 2010 include a feature that permits you to enter the elements of a source and Word will create the citation for you.

  1. Click on the References tab located on the Word toolbar
  2. Access the citation options within the Citations and Bibliography section

Note: Currently, Microsoft Word only indexes the 5th edition of the APA citation style, so make sure you have a basic understanding of the 6th edition of APA if you plan to use Word in creating your ciitations.
