Getting Started with GIS

Check out the GIS Tutorial workbook from the Peabody Library!

Online:

Use an online training course from ESRI. Start with the basics in 'Learning ArcGIS Desktop' or Choose a course from the website. Once you decide to take a course, simply request to be added to the organizational eLearning suite and you will get free access to that course.

In Person:

Contact Lindsey Fox to schedule an appointment and take advantage of hands on training for GIS in the Library.

GIS Services at Vanderbilt

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) service in the Vanderbilt Library connects students, faculty, and staff with GIS data, services, and information. The GIS service at Vanderbilt also helps with developing methodology for integrating GIS concepts into research of faculty, staff, and students.  Additionally, we are a Census Information Center and help connect our community to U.S. Census Data.
