Zome Design and Build Competition

What is the competition?

The Zome Design and Build Competition is sponsored by the Stevenson Science and Engineering Library to coincide with National Engineering Week. Each team (up to four students, all majors are welcome) will build a design along the theme of Technology of Space Exploration: Applications to Daily Life. Designs may involve machines, molecules, organisms, devices, or abstract concepts.

  • Registration begins January 29th, 2018 at the S&E Library! Click here for Timeline.
  • Each team will have four hours to build a design from a set of Zometools (258 struts of various lengths and 100 nodes). In addition to a design, the team will explain in writing (< 250 words), what inspired the particular design and why it was built that way.  There will be a team of judges drawn from the Vanderbilt community.
  • Cool prizes awarded!
