ES 290 Spring 2015: Start Here!

Getting Started

When you are studying or interviewing with a company, that company is operating within an industry and competing with other companies that sell similar products or services (think Coke and Pepsi).  Understanding the broader industry issues for that company’s business is important.  You will find that sort of information in databases with market and industry information.  While you will want to look at a company’s website, that gives their opinion about their company.  Other points of view can be found in analyst reports.  Also no ONE database has every company in it, so you may need to look at more than one.
