Loan Periods

Most library materials check out for 28 days to undergraduates, alumni, staff and courtesy users, 90 days to graduate students and 365 days to faculty members.  There are exceptions at each branch.  Reference items and most course reserve items (loan periods vary) are available for use inside the library.

Items that are recalled will receive a shortened due date.

Equipment loan periods vary.  Laptops, iPads and umbrellas check out for 3 days.

Fines

Most library items do not have overdue fines.  Fines for laptops and iPads are $10 per day.  Fines for recalled items are $1 per day.  Fines for course reserve items vary, but are typically 60¢ an hour.

All materials are eligible for billing when severely overdue.

Renewals

Users can extend the due dates of most library items up to 4 times by signing into My AccountRecalled materials cannot be renewed.

Loan Period Exceptions

Reference books and reference CD-ROMs, censuses, film reels, folios, fragile/rare books, some government publications (all governments DVDs and maps), items from the Legislative Collection, and microforms are available for use inside the library.

Items from the Leisure and Travel Collections, DVDs, video CDs and videotapes check out for 14 days and can be renewed up to 2 times.  Overdue fines are 30¢ per day.

Fragile/Rare books, reference books and reference CD-ROMs are available for use inside the library.  Request microforms from the Annex to use inside the Peabody or Central libraries with the necessary readers.

Periodicals check out for 28 days to all users.

Doctor of Ministry papers, fragile/rare books, reference books and reference CD-ROMs are available for use inside the library.  Microforms not in the Annex are available to use inside the Central library with the necessary readers.

Fragile/Rare books, government publications, reference books and tests are available for use inside the library.  Request microforms from the Annex to use inside the Central library with the necessary readers.

DVDs and videotapes check out for 14 days and can be renewed up to 2 times.  Overdue fines are 30¢ per day.

New books check out for 21 days.

Blair School of Music recordings, fragile/rare items, reference items, and 78 rpm discs are available for use inside the library.

Tests check out only to graduate students and faculty for 7 days and 180 days respectively.
